    Kenmare Mental Health Awareness Workshop

    Kenmare Mental Health Awareness workshop “Pathways to Mental health Services & Support” will take place on Wednesday May 22nd in the Adult Education Centre, Kenmare.

    Following on the success of last years event, Kenmare Mental Health Network is delighted with how this years event is shaping up. The event will have a morning and afternoon session.

    The morning session will focus on young peoples’ mental health (10am – 12pm) and the afternoon session on adult mental health from 1pm to 3pm.

    A number of expert speakers will attend such as consultant psychiatrist, someone with lived experience of mental health difficulties, local GP among others. There will also be a series of workshops both in the morning and afternoon on well being, mindfulness, fitness, WRAP, a safeTALK information session, Jigsaw, KDYS, Pieta House and many others. Local and regional support and service organisations linked with mental health will have stands at the event also.

    Flyers with workshop and speaker schedule as well as posters will be distributed over the coming weeks.

    Information – Demonstrations – Treatments – B.P. Clinic and mini talks from Specialists in all aspects of care.

    Tea & Coffee flowing all night!

    NOTE THE CHANGE IN MEETING TIMES PLEASE! 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

    Coming on the night will be:

    • Siobhan – Reiki & Reflexology Therapist
    • Marta – Specialist in many different kinds of Massage.
    • Margaret – Life Coach specialising in Tension Reduction.
    • Kilgarvan Day Centre Team Rockmount (Mini talk on the support they can offer with Q & A’s answered during the meeting on one to one basis).
    • Information literature from the Citizens Advice Bureau + Care Messages from the American Heart Association.

    Blood Pressure Testing will be available for the duration of the meeting with Nurse Anna O’Donoghue.

    This meeting is open to all carers so if YOU know someone who would benefit from this night, reach out to them for HeartBeat, invite them along and guide them through the night please. Carers are special and also need support and care!
